Our Top Pick:
WebWatcher for iPhone/iPad
(Compatible with iOS 12/iPhone 7)
Jan 28, 2019 11:26 am / Posted by WellResearchedReviews - 9/10 Stars - WebWatcher for iOS is our Top Pick because it is the only monitoring software currently compatible with iOS 12. This is because WebWatcher does not require you to jailbreak the device, which in the case of iOS 12 is not yet possible. In addition, Jailbreaking is a bad idea anyway as it is an incredibly complicated process, may brick (permanently damage) the device, voids its warranty and jailbroken monitoring software will no longer function once the device updates to the latest OS. WebWatcher for iOS records SMS Text Messages, Photos, Website History, Call Log History, Skype Messages, WhatsApp Messages, Kik Messages & Installed App List.
WebWatcher for iOS is very easy to set up. Using a completely new approach, WebWatcher does not require you to "jailbreak" the device! In fact, you don't even need physical access to the phone as there is no software to download. All you need is the Apple ID and password, which you simply input into WebWatcher's online interface. Very quick and easy! The web-based interface is very intuitive and easy to use. But if you have any issues or questions, their support team is very knowledgeable and available 24/7. Surprisingly, notwithstanding its superior feature set, WebWatcher ($99.95/year) is priced lower than key competitors making it not only the best product but also a great value.
Compatible with iOS 12/iPhone X: No other vendor is yet compatible with iOS 12 making WebWatcher the only solution that works with iPhone 6 or any other device running iOS 12. Currently over 60% of the iOS market has already upgraded to iOS 12 and the bulk of the remainder is expected to update within the next 3 months. So even if another solution works today, it will become disabled as soon as that device upgrades to iOS 12.
No Jailbreak Required: Other than WebWatcher, every other vendor requires you to jailbreak the device. In an effort to end jailbreaking, Apple has recently tightened its security to the point where no one has yet been able to jailbreak iOS 12. While some hacker might figure this out eventually, we at WRR highly discourage the practice of jailbreaking as it is complex, may damage the device and will certainly void the warranty. In any case, a monitoring software that depends on jailbreaking will only work until the next iOS update.
Web-Based Monitoring Interface: All activity recorded by WebWatcher for iOS is sent to an online account where you can see it from any web browser. This eliminates the need to ever access the smartphone again after installation. Additionally, if you use other WebWatcher products, such as WebWatcher for Mac, they all appear together seamlessly in the online account.
SMS Text Messages: See SMS Text Messages sent and received on an iOS device. Protect your kids online reputation by preventing "sexting".
Website History: See all websites visited on the iOS device. Smartphone web browsing is no longer an unknown!
Photo Recording: Keep track of what photos are being taken and saved to the iOS device. Whether they've been deleted or not, you'll have a record of what is sent to friends and posted to Facebook.
Call Log History: Easily monitor when calls are made, received, and missed by the iOS device. See call duration, time of call, and phone numbers.
Skype Messages: Monitor when Skype messages are sent & received on the iOS device. See the sender, recipient, and message text.
WhatsApp Messages: Monitor when WhatsApp messages are sent & received on the iOS device. See the sender, recipient, and message text.
Kik Messages: Monitor when Kik messages are sent & received on the iOS device. See the recipient and message text.
Installed App List: See the list of currently installed Apps on the device.
While mSpy captures a lot of data types, it unfortunately requires the user to jailbreak the device. As we have said previously, iPhone 6 and any previous phone upgraded with iOS 12 (currently over 90% of the market and growing fast have upgraded to iOS 12) cannot be jailbroken and thus mSpy will not function. As to older devices such as iPhone 4, 5 and 5s, mSpy will function only until the user upgrades to iOS 12. But if you still want to use mSpy, please understand that the jailbreaking process is complicated, may brick (permanently damage) the device, and will void the iPhone's warranty.
TeenSafe is the only other monitoring software that does not require you to jailibreak the device. However, TeenSafe is very expensive and does not offer the ability to monitor PC & MAC monitoring that can be accessed from one web console as they don't offer any type of monitoring for PC & MAC operating systems.
Like mSpy, MobileSpy captures a lot of different data types, but also requires you to jailbreak the device. As such, we have all the same concerns about the usability of this product as detailed in the mSpy review above. MobileSpy will not work on iPhone 6 or any older devices upgraded to iOS 12.
